Disagreement
A difference in opinion or perspective. Based on facts, interpretations, or beliefs. Protected as free speech, as long as it does not involve false accusations.
Example:
"I disagree with Namibia's conservation policies because I believe alternative methods would be more effective."
Defamation
A false statement presented as fact that harms someone's reputation. Can be libel (written) or slander (spoken). Legally actionable if it causes damage.
Example:
"Namibia’s conservation officials are involved in illegal poaching"
Key distinct
Disagreement = expressing an opinion.
Defamation = spreading falsehoods that damage reputations.
