Our mission is to counter misinformation and challenge malicious campaigns aimed at discrediting. Namibia’s conservation organisations and undermining legitimate government policy. We advocate for science-led, community-based conservation, and uphold the integrity of Namibia’s globally respected environmental and wildlife management frameworks.
We are committed to defending against defamation, disputing falsehoods, and safeguarding Namibia’s conservation achievements from ideologically or politically motivated attacks. Through legal defence, strategic advocacy, and public engagement, we work to reinforce the resilience of a conservation model that empowers rural communities, protects biodiversity, and sets an international benchmark.
Introduction
Namibia’s conservation success is no coincidence. It is the result of decades of trust, collaboration, and shared commitment between government, local communities, and dedicated non-governmental partners. Together, they have built a conservation system founded on community rights, sustainable use, and long-term environmental stewardship.
However, this success now faces a growing threat.
A rising tide of coordinated online attacks, misinformation, and activist-led smear campaigns is targeting conservation professionals, government representatives, and community leaders. These efforts are designed to erode public confidence and destabilise a conservation model that has delivered measurable benefits to both people and nature.
DefenceTrust.org was established in direct response to these emerging threats. We exist to defend Namibia’s conservation framework, uphold institutional credibility, and ensure that truth and science prevail over ideology and distortion.
Who we are
The Namibia Conservation Defence Trust (NCDT) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation, unaffiliated with any government department or conservation NGO. We proudly represent the people of Namibia who are working to preserve their natural and cultural heritage.
Our sole purpose is to defend Namibia’s conservation legacy from those who seek to undermine its progress. We provide legal and financial assistance to individuals and organisations who have been unfairly targeted or defamed through online activism and hostile campaigns.
We stand in resolute support of Namibia’s conservation heritage, and the foundational principle of sustainable use upon which it is built. Our work defends those who safeguard Namibia’s wildlife, wild landscapes, and the livelihoods of the rural communities who depend on them.
The NCDT remains unwavering in its commitment to truth, fairness, and the continued success of Namibia’s internationally acclaimed conservation model.
